Hey there, everyone, I want to talk today about summer pedicures. I know I recently covered the subject of pedis in my blog, Spring Is For Sissies. But it’s a subject that should be revisited often, I feel. Consider this your reminder, if you haven’t already, to schedule your mani/pedi so that you’ll be ready for Memorial Day weekend.
Summer Pedicure Care Is Very Important
As you know, I am a big fan of staying in shape. This means frequent workouts and trips to the gym. But I also like to keep my skin, my hair, and my hands and feet in good shape as well. That’s why I’m a bit of a product junkie when it comes to skin and hair care. It’s also why I’m such a stickler for getting my pedicures, especially my summer pedicures. You can sometimes let your pedis slide in the fall and winter months. But when it gets to be spring and summer, you really can’t neglect them.
Something that often surprises men and new sissies about pedis is that they’re not just meant to change the color of your toenails. They’re an entire pampering experience, for one, and for another, they really help you keep your feet in decent shape for sandals and foot fetish fun, if you’re into that sort of thing.
A spa pedicure, which is what I always get, involves soaking your feet in a tub of water. This serves several purposes, not the least of which that it makes it easier to get rid of the old, dry skin that mars the look of your feet. So I always recommend these kinds of pedis to friends and callers.
What Happens During A Spa Pedicure
In addition to the the soaking–which is very relaxing–you also get your feet scrubbed with a pumice stone. This helps exfoliate your feet and get rid of anything gross on them, like dry skin. The nails are also trimmed and shaped, and your feet and legs are massaged with lotion or oil, which also helps with the dry skin on the soles of your feet problem.
But of course, the polish part is important, too. Even though I often stick with shades like red and black, I always think of summer shades to be bright, cheery ones. This means both sunny yellows and oranges and cool, soothing blues and greens. Anything that you can look at and think of a day at the beach qualifies as a summer polish color, in my book. So keep that in mind when getting your summer pedicures this week.
Once your summer pedicures are done, you can leave the nail salon confident that your feet look their very best in your favorite pair of sexy sandals!
Of course, even if you’re not a sissy, you can still get a pedicure. If you don’t want the polish, just say so. Even the manliest of men can benefit from a pedicure that makes his feet soft and touchable (and not icky).
Go Forth And Enjoy Your Summer
When you get your summer pedicures taken care of, I hereby give you permission to go forth and enjoy your summer. I’ll be getting ready to enjoy mine in a day or two, myself. After that, I’ll be confident that I’ll look my very best out by the pool in my bikini and flip-flops for Memorial Day weekend!
When will you be getting your summer pedicures? And if you’re getting a nail polish, what color are you thinking? I’ll probably stick with red, but I look forward to hearing what you choose!
Until next time!
Hugs,
Ms Kay Marie
