Hello, and welcome to Ms. Kay Marie’s Summer Skin Refresh! Today we’re going to talk about what I’m doing with my skincare routine this summer and what you should be doing with yours as well. This post is for gentlemen, sissies, and other femmes alike. Even if you’re not into feminization, you should still be taking good care of your skin. Period.

The Importance Of Sunscreen, Especially In The Summer

This year’s summer skin refresh is focusing mainly on three things: Exfoliating, lotioning, and sunscreening. I cannot emphasize enough how important these three things are, especially the sunscreen. Sunscreen, sunscreen, sunscreen, you guys. If we’re going outside, we need sunscreen. We need it even if the sun is not shining. There are lots of UV rays that can still sneak through, even on cloudy days. And those UV rays can really cause damage. Sunburn is only one of the problems these rays cause. There are many different kinds of sun damage, and the best way to deal with them is to avoid them altogether. And wearing sunscreen is just the way to do that!

So, yes, sunscreen. Every day. No matter what.

But in addition to sunscreen–whose importance I simply cannot overstate–exfoliation and lotioning are also very important. I don’t want to overshadow those things in my zeal about sunscreen, lol.

Exfoliation And Lotioning–Also Important

If you’re not really up on skincare, you might not know exactly what exfoliation is. No worries, I’m going to tell you. Exfoliation is the removal of surface skin cells and built-up dirt from the skin’s surface, or at least that’s what Wikipedia tells us. It can be done via mechanical means, by using gently abrasive scrubs to literally scrub the ick away. Or it can be done via chemical means, using chemical peels to remove that top layer of grime and dead cells.

Now, this may sound sort of extreme if you’ve never tried it, but don’t worry. It’s nothing of the sort. Using scrubs, for instance, is quite enjoyable. It makes the skin feel nice and soft and helps promote the growth of new, healthy cells that make the skin look smoother, brighter, and more even.

As far as chemical peels are concerned, these are usually very gentle. There’s no acid eating your face off or anything alarming like that. These peels simply help promote the turnover of skin cells. That’s all.

And of course, I’m sure you know what lotion is and how it works. We often emphasize lotioning in the winter because our skin tends to be dryer then. But you also need lotion in the summer, too. You may have two different formulas–one heavier for winter and one lighter for summer–but you should never forego the lotion altogether. Like exfoliation, lotion helps to leave the skin looking softer, smoother, brighter, etc. So that’s why these things are part of the summer skin refresh!

What’s Your Summer Skin Refresh Like?

So now I’d like to know what your summer skin refresh is going to be like. What kinds of products do you love? What kinds of things are you looking forward to trying? If you don’t already have a skincare routine, has this post inspired you to start one? I certainly hope so. I encourage everyone, feminine or not, to take good care of their skin. It’s all you’ve got, after all.

So please, by all means, let me know what you’re doing with your summer skin refresh. You can give me a call to discuss it in a more in-depth manner, or you can leave me a comment to let me know what’s on your mind. Either way, I’d love to hear from you!

Until next time!

Hugs,

Ms Kay Marie
