Your DIY Mistress

Hi Everyone! Happy Friday! It has been way too long since I have posted here and for that I am sorry. The truth is, I have been quite busy. But I couldn’t wait any longer to share it with you.

About a year ago, I bought the money pit. I am not kidding you. On the surface most of the things appeared to be cosmetic or just general updating. Most of which I could handle on my own. I am actually fairly handy. I an addicted to HGTV and DYI. At least once a week I find some new project that I am convinced I can take on and just have to try. I have a notebook just full of ideas!

IMG_0945For the last couple of months – yes months – my tub faucet has been dripping. It started with just a little drip that would stop if I tightened up the hot tap. Before long it was constantly running and there was no more ignoring it. The bathroom was in need of some TLC so I pulled up my hair and got to work. I had my heart set on subway tiles. Classic white. I had picked out the smaller ones on a sheet – thinking it would go a little faster. It’s an old house, so walls are exactly plumb! I should have went with larger tiles ~ it would have been easier. But I am stubborn and like what I like!! Needless to say, it turned into much more than two day project! I was lucky enough to be able to call a family member who was able to come in from out of town to help.

IMG_0947Since I was switching out the shower faucet, I would do the sink faucet too and light too. I swear, it was like pulling a string on a sweater! I still have a few finishing touches, but I must say, I’m pleased with the results. Like any addict, I’m already thinking about my next “fix” ~ lol. I have a “to do” list in hand and ready to roll up my sleeves. My next project is my bedroom. I have already painted it. All that is left, is some new bedding, pillows and curtains. I’ll be sure to post pics!

Have a great weekend!
Hugs,
Ms Kay Marie

PS ~ I am going to do my kitchen sink and counters before the holidays.  I am really thinking about concrete. Has anyone done them?? If you have any suggestions or tips ~ please share!!! (Thanks!)
