Hi, guys, I want to talk a little today about self-care. This is something I think everyone should partake of at least occasionally. It doesn’t matter if you’re a Mistress or a submissive. Everyone should take care of themselves. And furthermore, everyone should be self-aware enough to know when they need some extra time to care for themselves.

What’s Going On In My Closet

You’re probably used to my semi-annual posts about changing out my closet for the different seasons. As you can imagine, I’ve already swapped everything in my closet over to my Fall and Winter wardrobe, as it’s already starting to get rather chilly here where I am.

So what is my Fall and Winter wardrobe, exactly? Well, when I’m not dressed for game day–which is a whole other thing–I have certain favorites. I’m a big fan of sweaters, layers, scarves, and of course, boots. Fall colors are some of my favorite shades, too. I’m loving all the burgundy, pumpkin orange, bright yellows, deep greens, and neutral tones of the season. (I do wear a lot of black)

It may seem weird to say that this is a form of self-care for me. But it is! I actually enjoy swapping out my wardrobe each year around the equinoxes. I sometimes forget all the cool stuff I have when it’s been packed away for six months. So it’s almost like a bunch of presents to myself when I open those boxes for the first time in months! So that is absolutely delightful for me.

Looking One’s Best

Another important aspect of self-care is looking your best. Changing out the closet helps me to do that. But many other things do, too. For instance, my hair and skin care routines change in the Fall. I’ve got some new products I’m excited about trying out. Sissies, take note!

Of course, even if you’re not a sissy, you can work on looking your best this season. Everyone, sissy or not, needs extra moisture on their hair and skin during the Fall and Winter. The combination of dryer, cooler air and winds create dry, flaky skin and dry, brittle hair. So make sure you’re using lotion and conditioner like you should. A good moisturizer for your face wouldn’t hurt, either.

New Things For Self-Care

Fall is also a great time to play around with new wigs, speaking of hair. I like to do this from time to time. I’m a natural redhead, but it can be fun being blonde or brunette or even pink-haired sometimes. Sissies might enjoy giving this a try, too. Even if you don’t change your hair color with the wigs, you can always try different hairstyles. All this counts as self-care in my book.

New hair, new skin and hair products, new colors. Seems that we’re missing something here. Oh, I know! New nail colors! Wine shades are all the rage for Fall, for both fingers and toes. Or maybe you should really have some fun with it and get something spooky. Black toenails with pumpkins or ghosts on each big toe, for example. Anything new, fresh, and exciting will make you feel better about yourself. And that, my friends, is self-care in a nutshell.

What kinds of self-care activities are you participating in this Fall? Long, hot bubble baths, clothes shopping, or just spending some time to yourself? Any and all of these things can work wonders for your morale. It just depends on your personal proclivities and what makes you feel good.

So just a reminder this Fall: Take care of yourself! And let me know how everything is going. Sometimes, self-care can just mean talking to someone about what’s going on in your life. And you know me, when you give me a call, I’m all ears. Talk to you soon!

Until nest time!

Hugs,

Ms Kay Marie
